Give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the Job already

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing magic with this United team and now the question is when will he be confirmed as Manchester United permanent manager rather than if he will be confirmed. His record since taking over at United is amazing considering how the team perfomed under Jose Mourinho. I can’t think of any coach in the world right now that would have done a much better job than Ole is doing. But how did Solskjaer get the job as a caretaker? Everyone knows this decision was coming because there was no beautiful football at old trafford under Jose Mourinho. Prior to his sacking, none of United games looked good to watch. There was no cohesion in any two positions let alone the whole team.

Teams like Southampton and Newcastle United did not really struggle against them. The state of the team under Mourinho had gone down as compared to his first season. He also fell out with the board as they were not willing to meet Mourinho’s request for better defenders, when the board deny its own manager’s request for players, it’s a red flag. In a nutshell letting Mourinho go is the best thing that happened to united in a while. Since his appointment, I did not get expect Ole to change everything within a short term but he has brought a positive environment to the team.

Solskjaer had a bad record of having his team Cardiff city relegated but the quality of players he has at United is much much better what he had at Cardiff and he is really doing wonders with this United team as has managed to get the best out of Pogba, Lingard, Lukaku, Rashford etc. While he remains coy on the subject of becoming the permanent manager, Solskjaer must know that he is destined to be offered the permanent Manchester United job after an incredible turnaround since taking over from José Mourinho befOre Christmas.

Solskjaer’s only defeat since taking over at his former club came against Paris Saint Germain in the first leg of their champions league round of 16 tie, but he has turned that around when his United made history by becoming the first side to overturn a 2-0 home deficit in a champions league knockout game.

Solskjaer who inherited a side which sat 11 points outside the top four after a disappointing opening to the campaign by José Mourinho. A lot of people had written United out of the race for a champions league spot before Christmas, but 32 points from a possible 36 in the Premier League has propelled the Red Devils into contention once again. It will be a mistake, and an unpardonable one, if the United board look over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the permanent job at Manchester United.
