Chelsea were thrashed 6-0 by Pep Guardiola’s Manchester city at the Etihad stadium yesterday. Sarri’s side were down 4-0 in the first 24 minutes of the game and would eventually turn out to be their heaviest defeat in premier league history since 1991 when they lost 7-0 to N’tin Forest. Sarri refused to shake hands with with his friend Pep after the final whistle.
But the defeat at Manchester city underlined one thing, the Chelsea team isn’t good enough and needs serious overhauling. Chelsea appointed Sarri to implement his philosophy at Stamford Bridge but failed to buy him players that can play his kind of football. But will Sarri get enough time to get his players to play exactly how he wants them to play? History shows that Sarri may not have enough time on his side.
