Bayern Munich’s pursue of Hudson-Odoi shows one thing, they are not messing around, they definitely have seen something special in the Chelsea youngster and would stop at nothing to get their man (boy). A chunk of the Chelsea fan base are agitating and wish the club will reject all advances towards the 18 year old, it’s the joy of seeing homegrown talent come through the ranks, especially when he is as talented as Hudson-Odoi is.
But the problem is more complicated than just meet the eye. Chelsea football club is known for not having patience with their managers, in as much as this has led the club to significant glories in the recent times, it has also forced managers hand in their team selections. Managers are then scared to give youth the chance for fear of failure and the inevitable sack that follows.
Sarri said recently that Callum Hudson-Odoi has improved and is now almost at the same level as Pedro and Willian following his sterling performance in the FA cup over the weekend. The Chelsea gaffer hasn’t also heaped praises on the youngster in his defensive phase of the game, which was a major concern and has urged him to stay arbitrary Chelsea because that is the best place for his development, but the truth is it will take more than mere words and praise to get him to stay, he needs game time to convince him that he is really wanted by the club. Maurizio Sarri and Chelsea football club have just a few days to ensure that their most talented youngster signs a new long term deal to stay with the club. But can they resist the lucrative offers coming from Bayern Munich? Time will tell.
