The Ghana Premier League was starved for sponsorship for close to three years before Zylofon media came along and pumped 10 million dollars into the league to try and make it attractive and also lucrative for our local players. Per the contract, the Ghana FA was supposed to receive $2m every year for five years.
However, the Ghana Premier League is currently at a standstill as a result of the investigative piece by ace journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, that’s notwithstanding, the league was supposed to resume in August 2019. This date was chosen for the resumption of the League because a lot of Ghanaian football fans called for our league to be in sync with the European calendar.
Now zylofon media and menzgold CEO is at large with so many questions pertaining to his business. Will they redraw the sponsorship deal with the FA? In the worst case scenario, the Ghana Premier League would probably go on without a sponsor for the time being but the company’s issues with the state cannot affect the date for the resumption of the league.
