Can Liverpool push on to win the league?

Liverpool is easily one of the best sides in Europe right now, under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp. Aside the fact that they have a fearful front three in Mane, Salah and Firmino, unlike previous seasons, Van Dijk and Allison Becker’s signing have really strengthen their back line and they concede less goals as compared to their competitors. Van Dijk brings stability and confidence to this Liverpool side, his leadership qualities and organizational abilities is what sets him apart from the rest.

Haven lost to Manchester City in their last premier league outing, and the gap reduced to four points, the question is; do they have enough in their squad to maintain the lead and go on to win Thebes league? We have witnessed Liverpool play magnificently well in the past but failed to win the title. For instance Rafa Benitez’s side had a good season in 2008, they lost just twice that season but went on to finish second and most recently, the 2013/2014 season. However, the difference this season is that they play every match as if it’s a cup final and this could help them.

It’s still a long way to go in the premier league but one big factor that could determine whether Liverpool win the title or not is how far each of them go in the champions league. Arguably if you offered Manchester city fans the choice of winning the premier league or the champions league, they obviously would take the European title, because they need to win the champions league to put themselves among Europe’s elite, while Liverpool need to end their domestic league drought.

THIs couple with how lucky each is in terms of injuries to key players could be the deciding factor in who wins the premier league this season. A lot of fans will see it as a failure this season if they fail to win the league title because this happens to be Jurgen Klopp third season in charge but yet to win the title in spite of the investment he has made in the squad.
